Coastal Psychology offers evidence-based practice. Evidence-based practice integrates up-to-date clinical research, our clinical expertise, and your unique client factors and preferences in order to provide the highest quality psychological services. 

Our team member are highly skilled in the delivery of research-supported treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). We tailor these treatment to meet your specific needs. 


Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) emphasizes the connection between our thoughts, behaviours, emotions, and physical symptoms. It focuses on strategies to address current problems and symptoms. CBT has been shown to be effective in the treatment of several mental health conditions and concerns, including: eating disorders; anxiety disorders; depression and bipolar disorders; obsessive-compulsive disorder; body dysmorphic disorder; posttraumatic stress disorder; and insomnia. 

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills are designed to address four challenging aspects of life: the ability to regulate difficult emotions; the ability to be assertive and interpersonally skillful; the ability to tolerate distress; and the ability to be mindful and present in our lives. Learning DBT skills has been shown to be effective in the treatment of a wide variety of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
